"The Big Challenge" is a competition that allows students from grades six to nine to test and prove their skills in the English language. Students from various countries may participate and rank in their school, state and country. This year 51 of the OHG’s students competed and achieved great scores, supervised by Mrs. Bayram and Mr. Bodolai. Even though there was a small participation fee, the OHG’s foundation funded all expenses, making it free for all students.

The test consists of a multiple choice test sheet with questions including grammar, reading and common knowledge. Every student gets 45 minutes to complete the tasks. To prepare for the test, everyone got the option to download the Big Challenge app and practice similar questions at home.

Every participant gets a little gift like a poster and a pen, and higher placing students have the chance to win things like headphones, tickets for amusement parks and of course medals and cups.

Grade 7- Elisabeth Schladot

Grade 8- Felicia Bertram

Grade 9- Sirkka Groß, also placed fourth on the national level

For all students, no matter what grade in the subject, The Big Challenge provides a fun competition with great prizes and is definitely recommended for anyone with interest in the language.
